Block Island- 1 yr anniversary

For our one year anniversary we decided we wanted to get away from Boston so Nick got us a room at a cute little B&B on Block Island. We had never been and had heard great things so off we went.

After driving for 1.5 hours, taking a 30 minute ferry ride, and walking 0.9 miles with our bags we finally arrived at The Barrington Inn. The inn was perfect for our weekend away because we had our own private deck and every day they had cheese and wine from 4:30- 5:30pm along with breakfast every morning. It was a great location and the owner was so sweet, she left us fresh flowers and champagne because she knew we were there to celebrate our anniversary.

That night we went to dinner at the Spring House which is one of the best restaurants on the island. It had great views and delicious food (I would highly recommend it!)

Saturday we decided to rent a Jeep for a few hours to tour the island. Mopeds are very popular on the island but I was too nervous because they seem dangerous haha. Nick was pretty happy though because he owned a few Jeep Wranglers when he was younger and loves driving them.

We got to see the whole island which inclues 2 light houses, bluffs, beaches and farmland. For being such a small island it has very different terrains.

That night we had some drinks on our deck and went to town for dinner and more drinks.

On our last day we went to the beach and took the ferry back in the afternoon. We then went back to Boston to do some 1st year anniversary traditions…

Like having a bite of our cake from the wedding. I highly reccomend only having the smallest bite possible…
